ABOUT THE TEACHER
PROFESSIONAL BIO
Mr. Alex is an acclaimed classical and jazz instrumentalist, known for his exceptional talent and versatility. He earned a Music and Business/Economics degree from Wheaton College in 2021, supported by a prestigious music and global leadership scholarship. Mr. Alex studied under Grammy-nominated instructors from top conservatories, including The Juilliard School and Peabody Conservatory.
At Wheaton, Mr. Alex studied classical piano with Dr. Daniel Horn, a Juilliard alumnus, and jazz piano with Grammy-nominated Brad Williams. He also received project training from Chuck Thomas, a Grammy Awards board member.
Mr. Alex was a two-time finalist in the Chopin Youth Piano Competition and won 1st Place in the 2017 Gershanov Family Arts & Writing Contest for his composition “Freiheit.” He has also composed for short films and collaborated with a composer from Heitor Pereira’s studio.
Outside of music, Mr. Alex enjoys hiking, socializing, and exploring new travel and culinary experiences. His dedication to community service earned him two U.S. Congressional Awards in 2016, and he was among the top 2.3% of applicants for the Edman Leadership Award for Global Service.
